Bongo Man

Bongo man
beating out the rhythms
as fast as he can
dancers twirl and sing
praise to the Lord, one God, our King

There are many ways
to worship
are some more “right”
than others?
Surely God knows the
righteous heart
regardless of how we worship

It is a measure of
our love and respect
that God considers
empty words, elegant rituals
actions for show
do not cover an unloving soul
