Source of Inspiration is in its seventh year. I have refrained from writing an “about” page as these poems are not about me, rather about us. In them we all find inspiration and life lessons to help us grow. When I started this blog, I had never written or read poetry, and had no idea what a blog was or that there were thousands of them. It has astounded me to watch the readership grow…surely an action of Source from whom we receive these beautiful poems.
But many of you have asked me to tell you a bit about myself, so here goes. I am from the US was a volunteer for the past 14 years at an ecological project and game preserve in central Brazil. I am retired now but had a program called “Stars of Life” that was for local children with disabilities and emotional problems. I also held free retreats for women in crisis. This work was a blessing beyond my wildest dream. I had no experience in these areas but simply turned to Source to show me what to do. Out of that came an interesting combination of equine therapy and other therapeutic modalities with the children.
One of the surprises of the blog is the more than 39,000 comments from readers from around the world. Such incredible sharing, caring, with readers often responding to each other in the most loving, beautiful ways. I am deeply honored by the readership of this blog, although am just the scribe. Still, I am have loved getting to know many of our readers and thank each of you for your comments and friendship.
I send each of you a big hug and much Love and Light, pat

The like for Blogger Tips Group is not active and a search gave several choices. Thanks for inviting me to your group. I post a poem every four hours 24/7 on my blog as well as in the main social media outlets. I am also fortunate to have a family e-magazine with readership in 74 countries and one and a half million readers post my poetry each month. I have no idea how many people read, reblog, etc. the poems on Source of Inspiration. I do not worry about that because I only hold the pen. Source does the rest. 🙂 I had never heard of blogging when I started five years ago, had never written poetry, did not even like it. But, here I am still wondering how the 12,000+ poems came to be. I am trying to put them in books just to preserve them as they were created on WordPress so did not have separate files for them until recently. All this to say, it takes a lot of my day so do not have much time to interact with other bloggers except to respond to the more than 37,000 comments I get. I like what you are doing and wish you the best of luck. If you have a particular question or want to use anything on my site, please feel free to let me know. Thanks, Greta. hugs, pat

I say that I do speak Portuguese but my friends laugh when I say this. I am a US volunteer the past 13 years here in Brazil. I learned much of my Portuguese from the cowboys as I used to ride herd with them. It is a beautiful language that I murder but try. The poems are translated by a blog reader, Annabel, who lives in Portugal. We are currently putting together a book of the poems she has translated for me. Glad to know they are correct as my Portuguese is surely not good enough to know. Glad you found us. How did you? Do you live in Brazil? hugs, pat

Jane, it is true that we must be willing for Source to manifest through us (although it can happen even when we do not knowingly invite it). Once we have this intention, though, it happens again and again, as it does every day…the poems come, quickly without thought or edits for the most part. And as many poems as I am willing to sit and copy down. I believe we all can tap this creative Force if we are willing. And what a wonderful experience it is each time it happens. The energy flowing through is so love filled it leaves me overflowing. Thanks for your kind words. hugs, pat

I am an ardent reader of your blog for months now… And I have to say I am quite a fan of yours…. I wanna talk to you so so much…. I mean, where do get so many ideas that you are able to post about two poems a day… Where do you find the inspiration?… I really like it when you write long…. But I also have to say, I don’t like it when you choose a word and give each letter a sentence (seems inferior to the talent you exhume in your poems, you know)… Anyways… I really like your blog…

Prathee, you can write me at patcegan@hotmail.com if you wish to talk with me. I normally post a poem every six hours unless I am without Internet or away and unable to prepost. The poems are from Source. I could never have written the 7000 poems posted in the last three years by myself as I had never written or even read poetry. The poems are about what we all struggle with in life. I learn from them just as everyone else does. I do not understand the process, i.e., how they happen to come every morning. I sit quietly with pen and paper and just write until I feel it is time to stop. There are always six poems and sometimes as many as 20, depending on how long I sat. I edit very little, mostly typing or spelling errors, never content. At times I have deleted a poem because it did not seem to come from Source. hugs, pat

Thank you for your comment. These poems flow through my pen effortlessly with almost no changes. I can not take the credit for them as they simply come each morning for as long as I am willing to write them down…usually I sit for about an hour to an hour and a half. During that time six or more poems come in rapid succession…every day. For this reason I call them Source poems. Am I tapping into a universal Source of creativity? I honestly do not know but I had never read poetry and certainly never wrote it until I started my blog three years ago. In fact, I did not even know what a blog was, much less that there are thousands of them. I learn from and am delighted by the poems every day just like you. When I revisit some in the archives, I do not remember them usually or if I do, I see that I am understanding them at a deeper level this time. Thus, they give again and again. I started to put them in ebooks last week…a daunting task as there are now more than 7000 poems. People keep asking me to preserve them but WP does not make this easy to do as their xml files are not readily converted to workable files…something I hope they remedy in the future. Thank you for visiting here and adding your sweet words. hugs, pat

You should consider getting the latest version of Word Perfect. It has an ebook converter built into it and it should a simple matter of copying and lasting from blog into the word processor of the program and then formatting to text. 🙂

Nice feature, the ebook converter. I am currently writing the poems by hand as that has always seemed right to me. I then type it into Microsoft Word and paste it into my blog. I use Word because CreateSpace where I self-publish my books will take the Word file. I don’t know if it takes Word Perfect. It is a laborious process for sure. I suppose I could omit the handwritten step but haven’t so far. I have thousands of poems on the blog that are only on the blog and I have tried converting their xml files and it is very time-consuming and needs a lot of editing. Guess if our Creator wants them in book format, it will happen but for now, only my current poems are being created in CreateSpace format for publication. I have four books now that need to be edited, covers made, etc. for publication. I have had some huge changes in my life this year so really have not made the time to do this. Thanks for the suggestion, though. It may come in handy later as my life settles down. hugs, pat

Barbara, thank you for the invitation to participate in your awakening stories. For me, it is important to remain in the background. Only yesterday did I put an “About” page after three years of not having one. My awakening has been strong and ongoing but at this moment, I share it only through the poetry. Your blog is beautiful and will touch many people I am sure. Thanks again for the invitation. big hug, pat
