The triangle does represent the Holy Trinity. Three separate but one in the same. C.S. Lewis put it well: “The Father is the lover, the Son is the beloved and the Holy Spirit is the love that empowers and binds.”
Like a stool: no better balance can be had than with three legs; there can never be any wavering.
