Fleeting

All that we experience
today is fleeting
yet how we cling
so afraid to let go.

Can we challenge God
tell Him He is unjust
for did He not lead us
to the abyss of
the unavoidable?

Must we accept fate?
No, we must choose
our destiny
moment by moment.
We must call ourselves
the name that tells
what we have chosen
to give meaning to our lives.
