The Cave

I’m in a cave
dark, scary
trembling, whimpering
afraid to move
trapped, unable to see
the dangers I fear
are all around me

I’m in a cave
cozy, out of the storm
safe in the knowing
that God is with me
I search and find some wood
soon a fire comforts me

Life is how we perceive it.
Is this true?
If so, I choose to be grateful
free of fear and resentment
savoring each moment
learning from the difficult times
cherishing sweet days
know that life is precious
all too soon it ends
so today I will be grateful
content, at peace. Amen.
