I once saw a unicorn
people laughed and said
it wasn’t true
I believed them
so the unicorn disappeared.
Then I danced with fairies
on a moonlit night
others shook their heads
said it could not be
I believed them
and never saw
the fairies again.
I grew up, no longer
believe in fantasy
except once in awhile
the magic reappears
and I become
a child again who
believes in sweet mystery.
Pat, your verses are filled with the innocent spirit of a child. May we adults hang on to a bit of this star dust.

This reminded me of one of my favorite memes: Someone once told me I was delusional. I laughed so hard I almost fell off my unicorn!
LOL!
