What is a Poet?

poet

What is a poet
but one who
sees with her heart
and speaks of worlds
others often do not know.

Handle gently these
tender souls whose
words awaken and guide
us into realms we have
not had the courage to go.

What is a poet but
one through whom the
Light can flow
illuminating the
mysteries before us
and challenging us
to walk the path of love.

  2. This is so beautiful and so true. Poets seem to get to the essence of life, beauty and being and are able to reveal it to we who are too busy or distracted to see.
Your insights and poems enrich my life by making me slow down or stop in my tracks to wonder and give thanks x

Thank you for your beautiful words. You are right that the secret is to slow down, indeed, to stop and wonder, observe, and be filled with gratitude that our Creator is so generous, compassionate and loving. hugs, pat

We all are channels for the Light if we wish to be. We are from the Creator, the Source of Light, and therefore are able to manifest the Light from Source. Hugs, pat

“Challenging us to walk the path of love…” that is a great definition of what poetry can also bring to others. Great post.
