Spiral of Life

At five I saw
with eyes of wonder.
Age twelve thrust
me into the adolescent
world of explosive
transformation.
By twenty, I entered
the world, surely but
reluctantly, knowing
some vital piece…
innocence, was lost.

Each stage of life
offers a stepping stone
along the spiral of life
ever upward and outward
until we once again
return to the innocence
with which we started
so long ago.
