A Laughing Clown

clown smile

The clown is laughing
Big smile painted on
Inside he weeps silent tears
The clown is laughing
We never know another’s sorrow
Often judging with no compassion
The clown is laughing
Big smile painted on

I love the big bold image of the clown . How many go around wearing ‘a painted smile’ if only some of us, just for a moment, could look beyond that smile, we might be able to help someone in distress before it’s too late …I love your flashes of poetry , I write myself , so it’s so inspiring …thank you
