Still Angry?

angry boy

How long should
I stay angry
when someone mistreats me?
I gnaw on what happened
again and again
creating more anger
until it becomes
an oozing sore.

I self-righteously declare
how wrong the other person
was as justification for
me not letting it go
and in the end, do more
harm to me than the other
person did with his careless words.

Sound familiar?

Very confrontational…very raw…I like it 🙂 I think a lot more of us should have learned at an early age that anger solves nothing if you don’t turn it into action: by refusing to deal with the person anymore, you’ve already made a statement. Rejection is it’s own reward 🙂
