Choose Carefully

Choose carefully when
there are great choices
to be made;
each deed performed
carries with it
consequences, which repeat
in ever-widening spirals,
influencing future actions.

One can not retrace
these paths to change a choice
of yester-year.
Therefore,
stop,
consider
who you are,
ask,
“Is this choice true to me?”

  1. So true. Parents read this to your kids! Teach them they are valued & give them confidence to ask for what they want. Teach them to be kind. So many adults fail to teach children about choice & consequence for fear of confrontation or pain but even those who learn this young can still make choices they regret if they don’t have the skills necessary to speak up or say no. We need to give them an inner strength – so much easier said than done too πŸ˜‰ Great poem.
