Sense of Taste

What a rich sense–that
of taste, spectrum of
flavors delicately savored,
usually taken for granted
as we eat on the run, or
in front of the mind-numbing
television. A morsel of food
slowly enjoyed is a daily
gift those of us with abundance
are given while many others
die today from want.
