Each Beautiful Day

Birds sing
and so do I
eager to start the day.
I wake up happy now
in the past, this was not so
which makes this time sweeter
for I’ve known both pain and peace.
Feeling grateful for all lessons
which helped along the way
I sing with the birds
as we start each beautiful day.
