The Solace of Pain

Is it possible to find
solace in the pain itself
or does it consume
leaving only scars and ashes
to a better person than I
to be redeemed by pain
for it dissolves me
into a shadow of who I am
wanting to no longer
in the realm where
pain consumes
solace in pain?
If it is possible
then I am not even close
