Spectrum of Sanity

Mental illnesses we whisper
nodding knowingly
usually without compassion
full of self-righteous judgment
but is mental illness
a soul lost in a world
too hard to understand
layers of illusion and lies
false gaiety
longing for something
that has no name
perhaps sanity is the illusion
and all of us are the same
just some are better than others
at playing this difficult game

Yes, sanity may be an illusion. I think we’re all at least a little bit nuts. Just some more than others. And we don’t usually recognize it in ourselves, do we?

I would like to live without comparing myself with others…too tall, too short, too fat, too thin, crazy, nuts, mentally ill labels. It is all about judgment, myself or others. I want to learn to just be who I am with the only thing I want to work on is learning how to be closer to our Creator, to be more loving as He is.
