Talking to the Trees

Sometimes I feel so weary.
Life seems hard to bear.
I take long walks in the floresta,
and share my sadness with the trees.
They sway with understanding,
pat my cheeks dry with new leaves,
shelter me as I nap beneath
loving outstretched boughs,
only to awaken renewed and
peaceful once again.

I had to read your about again – wonderful. You would have been needed there again – with this new president

Yes, his comments are as outrageous as Trumps. I pray for my Brazillian family and friends and all who live there for his views are frightening. More frightening is that he was elected which means, assuming it was a true election, many people agree with him. I am politically uninformed by choice but even I see the red flags. But it seems the whole world is broken. But I keep reminding myself that there are many who care, who are doing wonderful things, loving things to help balance out this darkness. hugs, pat

That is what keeps us going, the reminders of the existence of good, caring, loving people. I do not know how this world is falling apart. But it is.

Hi, Chris. Nice to see you here again. Send me an email and let’s catch us. I am back in the states…all but my heart which has a large chunk in Brazil. I am reposting some early poems and find I am still learning from their messages. hugs, pat

Beautiful… If only every human understands this, instead of planting concrete jungles plant trees.. Trees have souls, and we need more in this world nowadays.

Floresta is the Portuguese version of forest. I also love the word. In the US, we would call the floresta here “jungle” as it has wild animals like large cats, called onça, in the leopard family. I live on the edge of the floresta, which has trails some meditation areas I’ve had built. I love being in the floresta and always come out feeling renewed. Thanks for your visit and comment. Hugs, pat
