Romantic Poems

dandelion_flower_spring_green

Pretty poems of romantic love,
sonnets for those who dally,
lace and babbles to please the eye.
I linger on such lovely words,
yet they do no satisfy my soul.
I want, no, need substance, not
meringue kisses. Sighing, I close
the book that leaves me longing
and resume my quest for that which
my soul doth seek.

    yes

    sometimes

no matter how achingly beautiful the emotions that mere clumsy words can invoke

    sometimes you have to show

    not tell
