Sprigs of Joy

I pick off specks of pettiness
rub away stains of greed, jealousy
rancor, cleanse away spite
until I wear a raiment
pure enough to let the light
of love, compassion, generosity
shine through

I wear this cloak
with sprigs of joy
wreaths of smiles
a dash of fun,
lots of good humor
attired for the Ball of Life
grateful for He who guides me
through darkness and into
the light where my soul
was destined to go
