Only Me

Daddy’s pretty little girl
mirror, mirror on the wall
am I the fairest of them all?

Daddy’s brave little man
don’t cry, sissies cry
play football, only
fags are artists

I love being an old woman
no girdles of my youth
obsession with my weight
eyeliner, lipstick, perms for me
for I declare I am free
to be exactly as time
has made me be
an old woman
who does not want
to be anything
but me.
