Hour Before Dawn

The hour before dawn
air fresh, sky beginning to lighten
day full of possibility
I sit quietly, pen in hand
writing what comes to me
every day without fail.
This is where I’m meant to be.

Do you start your day
in quiet reflection
open your heart to receive
fortify your faith through prayer?
This time at the beginning
of each day made sacred
by observance
can set the tone
for the rest of your day
to hear God’s guidance
all along the way.

  1. This is a practice I always intend but never quite manage. I must try harder.
