The Teacher

May I teach by my conduct
rather than my tongue.
The refinement of one’s self
is worthy of more respect
than teaching others
for who can teach
what he does not know?

Yet there are those
who say we teach
what we need to learn
so perhaps we all need
to become
professors of love
compassion
generosity
humility.
