The Acceptance of Grace

The undulating waves of grace
lifting me higher and higher
though child of dust that I am
I fall again and again
but each time not as far.

What is grace
a gift unmerited
I don’t have to earn it
or deserve it.
I only have to accept
what God so lovingly provides.

Yet here I am
laden with a sack of woes
too sill, too stubborn
to just let go.

Lord, please give me the grace
to accept the grace
that You so patiently bestow.
