Smell of Evil

The odor emitting
from this man
was unlike any I’ve ever known.
“He’s possessed”
others whispered
as he moaned and jiggled
in obvious distress.

The spiritual healers
began chanting, clicking
fingers and tongues
emitting long hissing sounds
praying prayers of delivery.

He fell to the floor
gagging, screaming
sending out the most
terrible smell
as we prayed for his soul.

Then suddenly
he went rigid, then collapsed
and lay still
the terrible odor gone
and in its stead
the sweet fragrance
of roses hung
in the air.

  1. Read something like this for the first time.. and it’s pretty justified… nicely written
