Streams

street-fair

Streams of humanity
laughing, talking, gossiping.
Some walking in hurried silence
looking neither left nor right
at gaily displayed goods
under patchwork tents
street fair madness to
buy, buy, buy in hopes
of filling the empty spot
within, yet material
goods leave one quickly
dissatisfied and so the
hunt begins again.

Buying to fill an empyness within – sometimes I wonder?: How many people regard their habit of “buyind… buying” as just the normal thing, without feeling the void?
