  1. Hello Pat! Perhaps it’s just semantics, but “aloneness” denotes transcendence of self, completeness, fullness, presence. Nobody is needed, you are enough.
    Loneliness implies a lack, a feeling that something is missing, a pain, a depression, a need, an incompleteness, an absence.
    The former is a state of inner power, the latter – illusion of insufficiency. Perhaps they’re used interchangeably these days, but the connotations are diametrically opposite.
    Enjoy the power of aloneness! ☼

    • Thank you for the explanation. Actually, either word would work with this little poem. I used loneliness to imply that sometimes our discomfort is needed to push us to change. Interesting the shift if I used aloneness. hugs, pat
