Why Praise?

monky hug

Join hands and hearts
voices raised in song.
Praise the Lord, be
grateful. May our
lives be long.

I wonder why religions
teach us to praise God?
Does He need our praise,
or do we need this exercise
in gratitude and humility?

We also need to be praised,
to be told by others that
we are doing a good job, are
worthy and loved. How
often we fail to give
this gift to each other.
Why are we stingy with our
words of encouragement and
thanks? Let’s give sincere
praise freely–a gift of the heart.

Dale Carnegie said it years ago…be hearty in your aprobation and lavish in your praise. No wonder he had such a great influence! We can too if we follow this guideline : )
