I thought I knew
how to love you,
but it always turns
out to be me loving me.

Loving you hoping you will love me
Helping you so you will help me
Feeling angry and rejected if you
do not think or act as I want.

How quickly “I love you,” fades
away on the wind. How conditional
is my love.

Would that I could love as the
Creator doth love me.
Free of “should” or “only if…”
Love is patient, so very kind,
never dividing into “yours” and “mine.”

Idleness is not necessarily
laziness. We need time to
reflect, rejuvenate, relax.
Is life only about working
to buy one more thing we
could easily do without?

I am learning the joy of
being idle. I live without
appointments, schedules,
and activities I do not
want to do. I now have time
to do all the things I like
to do–including
nothing!

I ndulging in life
D eciding to live each moment as it comes
L earning to say “no” when I do not want to do something
E njoying life to its fullest

I find I need rituals,
reminders of what I
value in life. Cycles
give me structure and
comfort me.

R eminders to stop and recall
I nstances of connection
T eaching, filling
U pon wisdom does more wisdom grow
A lways honor integrity
L ove comes in many forms
S eek balance in all you do

I thought I could
but I failed,
again.
Shall I quit?
The task seems
impossible.

I lie on the floor
and cry. My puppy
licks the tears on
my cheeks. He chases
his tail, barks at
his shadow, bites my
nose and invites me
to play. Soon I am
laughing, unable to
resist this scamp’s charm.

Puppy love fills my heart
showing me how to try
again. Laughter and love
gives me strength.
How did my puppy
get so wise?

I want to fly,
soar above the trees,
ride the currents
to faraway lands;
fly with beetles,
birds, and butterflies,
drift through the
sky of freedom.

Alas, I am of the Earth,
not of the air, so where
do I find this freedom
for which I long?

F reedom is a state of mind
R equired is gratitude
E ach must choose his path
E verything that happens is a lesson
D o all things with good intention
O ne heart, freedom through unity
M ay the Light free us all

Oh, no! She’s coming,
such a gossip and bore is she.
Why does God put such people
in my life for the woman
reminds me of me.

This poem is not autobiographical.

Have I lost my marbles:
agates, cat’s eyes, colors
of every hue? The Game of
Life seems complicated at
times; winner take all.
Yet, when put in the perspective
of children playing marbles
on a summer day, one sees
life’s simplicity.

Life is a game, full of rules
of illusion. Those who play
fair are winners; those who
cheat must continue to play
until they learn how to
play the Game of Love.

Be a peace, Wee One,
I ask only for your
love, for it is through
the energy of love that
all healing occurs. When
in doubt as to what to
do, “just love them,”
is always the answer.
I will do the rest.
