See-Saw Faith

I am certain
without a doubt
firm in my faith,
that is
except
when I’m not.

I have decided
I need certain
rituals-spiritual crutches
to remain in balance;
this is part of who I am
at this moment.

All the tales I’ve been
told about “right and wrong”
were only other people’s
best guesses.
I am free to accept them
or discover my
own inner wisdom.
Teeter-totter
back and forth
waiting for me
to know what is true
for me.
