An earthworm came calling;
I found him at my front door,
possibly seeking a dry spot;
his home flooded with days of rain.
How does one make a poem about
a earthworm? Yet, he is a wonder,
transforming mountains of kitchen
scraps into rich humus for the garden,
aerating the soil as he moves about.
As I survey my beautiful garden, full
of these earthworms, I realize that
even the most humble is an important
part of the wheel of life.

BEAUTIFUL ! Haven’t been well recently but I’m grateful I was able to read your writing this evening as it always uplifts my heart. Sincerely Deborah
Deborah, I send you much healing light and love. You are right that when we raise our spirits, we heal much faster. hugs, pat

I particpated in a workshop for many years
and one of the exercises done was to think of three unique things about yourself
my third one was that I save worms from sunlight by moving them underground
they are one of the most important creatures in our ecosystem
one worm shifts a ton of dirt a year
Charles Darwin measured it, I think as a project for his children to teach them about nature
They have always fascinated me and I also move them to safety. hugs, pat
