Feeling Pretty

so “pretty,” a thoughtless act,
gossip, indifference, anger,
selfishness, spoil the frock
of the day, leaving me
not so pretty.

Yeah, I could never understand why the “popular” kids in school were so generally disliked

how is it that they were popular?

okay, that is kind of backwards.

I don’t understand why the kids who were called popular, could be called that, given that they were so universally disliked
