Welcome suffering for it
brings a knowing, but let
it go and do not wear it
as a badge for all to see
for then its message fills
with worms of rot and spoils
that which it sought to heal.

I have been frequently told that suffering is optional
so I have to wonder, why people keep picking up that option…
Yes… Holding on to the suffering distorts the gift of recognition and keeps the cycle going.
Pat, I think you might be interested in the works of Arlen Shahverdyan http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=hy&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Farlenshah.wordpress.com%2F

We all suffer one way or another but how refreshing it is to meet a cheerful, life affirming soul who doesn’t wear any heaviness. So often they are seen as lightweights who are insensitive and unfeeling but this beautiful poem tells it like it is. They have beaten their suffering and transofrmed it into something great but silent. xx
So true, Pat! Suffering and pain of all kinds are red flags from our spirit, asking us to change.
Hugs,
Alix
Hi, Alix, nice to see you here. Hope all is well with you. hugs, pat
I like this. It resonates with my still suffering inner but I do see healing. Takes so long. I think sometimes the best way to heal is to share and that might be a bit badge wearing but it is what connects us and helps us see our way through the suffering in my opinion. We need to know we are not walking alone, whatever the path. I like the photo, the way all the dark turtles are collected around the lone white one. Didn’t know turtles were so human, lol
